Making Echinacea Salve
Grind and sift Echinacea flowers (roots will not work). Mix alcohol with the flowers in a stainless steel bowl, cover and let stand for 2-3 hours. Blend the moist herb with olive oil in a blender until the container becomes warm. Filter through muslin, squeezing out as much oil as possible, then heat the oil slowly in a double boiler. Add chopped beeswax and continue heating until it melts. Pour into containers to cool.
